SJARL

Sjarl has played on stage since the age of 16. In fact, he read notes before he could read at all. The local drum band and fanfare exposed him to the basics, but he learned the rest by developing his musical skills further on his own. In the past 15 years, he has played most of the youth centers in the south of Holland in several bands: Made Inn, Guitar & Stripes, Monday Eve, Heart of Stone, Santana cover band, Ali & The Bluesbreakers, BBQ, B-Nice, Blue Monday, and 432 other projects that he has since forgotten. He also played bass, drums, and keys, but did not like those enough; he preferred playing guitar. In the beginning, Sjarl played music by Dire Straits and Eric Clapton. This is when the blues started to get his attention more and more. He has been inspired greatly by Robben Ford and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Crazy about technology, Sjarl spends hours and hours mixing and recording in his Project-Blue Studio. (The more buttons and LEDs, the better!) But he also loves to lose himself in what he calls "the second level", the place where music and creativity melt together. His best and worst life moments he tries to express through his music. For him, this is a perfect outlet in today's society. Sjarl: "By the way, I play guitar and have a wife that understands my state of mental musical daze. This is very important!"
